The Little Apples will begin by learning foundational drama skills with a focus on creativity and play, imagination, teamwork, character exploration, and story building. Students will develop their self-confidence and collaborative skills through theatre games & activities and scene creation, while working toward a final performance at the end of the year!

Junior Acting

Students will develop their acting skills through movement and voice training, collective creation, and exploration of various theatre forms. Students will create and perform monologues, scenes, and a final, full-length production at the end of the year. Students will develop a strong sense of teamwork and belonging through artistic collaboration.

Students will explore cultural and social topics through storytelling theatre, collective creation, scene work, monologues, and a full-length production at the end of the year.

Students in Senior Acting will begin with foundational training in theatre and participate in voice, movement, improvisation, and characterzation exercises, as well as audition preparation if desired. Students will explore cultural and social topics through storytelling theatre, collective creation, scene work, monologues, and a full-length production at the end of the year. Comedy Central will have a focus on improv, stand-up, and comedic themes & stories.

Calling all creative writers! In this exciting new class, students will gain experience in several areas within the performing arts. Students will learn creative writing techniques specific to play writing, develop their own works for the stage, and learn how to bring their stories to life through production design. Not only will students have opportunities to act and write for the theatre, they will develop valuable leadership skills as they direct and design other elements of their show, including costume, sound, set, and marketing.

Musical Theatre

Age Level: 14+

 Term 1: $300 +HST (12 classes)

Term 2: $350+ HST (16 classes)

In this course, students will learn about the various genres of musical theatre, develop basic vocal hygiene / range development warm-ups, basic dance moves for simple choreography, and how to apply acting techniques to song. Students will have the opportunity to try their hand at lip-syncing, develop appropriate audition repertoire, and prepare an end of year musical revue with solo and group numbers. Students are required to provide their own solo music.

​

** There will be a 10 minute audition for class placement which will consist of singing 16 measures of a song, and a brief interview on what interests you about musical theatre and what expectations you have of the course.
